Picturebase

2021-2022

Overview

Picturebase approached me on early 2021 to take a look at their current website and give my honest opinions on it. Their website was a template-built, store-bought website that was incredibly slow and due to abandoned components, almost impossible to update.

After my initial review, they asked me to design and develop them a new website, that’s both lightning fast, clean and fits their path forward.

Clearvoyance

The layouts were settled on minimalistic, easy to navigate and quick to browse. We deliberately used fewer elements, since we wanted the work to shine through.

The website featured an About section, a selection of Works and a Directory featuring the directors and directors of photography they worked with.

Pagespeed

The previous version used a store-bought template which was cost-effective at the beginning, but it was so poorly optimized that the bounce rate was extremely high due to slow loading times.

After my custom designed and built WordPress theme, Pagespeed went up dramatically, bounce rates dropped and time spent on website increased by a huge margin.

Early ideas

This was truly a collaboration between Picturebase and me, and we went through a lot of iterations of the visual stylebook before settling on the final look. Here are some examples of the UI process.

Clothing

In addition to the website development, the client asked me to design a few t-shirts for the crew – and they rock it on set since every day.
